The Approach command

The Approach command is intended as a mandatory first step in servicing the vehicles.

The maintenance flow begins by approaching a specific vehicle. There are two ways of approaching vehicles:

1. Select the vehicle in the map and click Approach

The user can configure the default option of approaching the vehicles in the service app, for every vehicle category in the dashboard.

It can either be by scanning the vehicle QR code (default) or by just pressing the Approach button without having to scan the code (configured in the app tab of the vehicle category quick view).

2. Use the Scan button in the map to scan the QR code or enter the QR code manually

Clicking this button offers the user to either scan the QR code or enter it manually using the keyboard. Different code lengths are supported in the option of manually entering the code through the keyboard, and values can be alpha-numeric (letters or numbers). The third button in the row is used to enable the phone flashlight, to help with illuminating the QR code in the dark. See pictures belo

A successful approach results in the Approach commands being run on the vehicle, and Approach view being displayed to the user. The list of commands that should be run during the approach action can be configured per vehicle category, in the dashboard.

In case the “Set out of order” command was enabled as part of the Approach commands, approaching the vehicle will automatically change the vehicle service state to Maintenance, indicating that the maintenance is in progress and removing the vehicle from the map for the end users.

Note: Once the service agent has approached the vehicle, there are several options available. Click here for more details.
