Approach/Leave commands

Add a series of commands when approaching and leaving a vehicle to make service agents work more efficiently.

What are they?

They are a series of commands that are sent to the vehicle every time a service agent scans or deploys a vehicle in the field.

How to configure approach/leave command

  1. With the topmost branch selected, go to Settings
  2. Select Vehicle categories
  3. Click on the Commands tab
  4. Select approach or leave commands in the dropdown menu, and enable the desired commands.

How it works in the service app

In the service app, whenever you scan a vehicle, you execute an approach action. This action sends to the vehicle all the commands that you enabled in the Approach commands in the dashboard.

In the same manner, when you click on the Deploy button in the vehicle detail screen, you execute a leave action, which sends all the commands that you selected in the Leave commands in the dashboard.

Example

You have a fleet of mopeds with a tail-box and helmets inside. The service agent’s job is to change the battery and check if the helmets are inside the tail-box. This means he needs to:

  1. Set the vehicle out of order, so no one rents the vehicle while it is being serviced
  2. Start the vehicle in case it is parked wrong
  3. Unlock the battery compartment
  4. Unlock the tail-box
  5. Lock the tail-box
  6. Stop the vehicle
  7. Set it operational

By setting all these commands when scanning the vehicle (Approach action - commands 1 to 4) and deploying the vehicle (Leave action - commands 5 to 7), the service agent saves time by executing all the commands just by pushing one button, and you make sure that all the steps required are being followed (like setting the vehicle out of order and operational).
