What document types are supported?

Veriff supports lots of document types (passport, driving license...) but the goUrban system only supports driving licenses.

How does it work?

Users verify themselves directly in the white-label end-user app through Veriff.

It is possible to prompt Veriff during the signup process of the white-label end-user app.

In any case, users will be asked to verify before they can make a rental for a vehicle that has this requirement if they haven’t verified yet. You can find out which kind of driver’s license a certain user has in the User’s quick view.

The data retention period is determined by the operator. The documents that the user uploads to Veriff will be available in the dashboard for review during the period that has been determined.

Options for verifications

Verifications go through an automated check, and if needed (if the system couldn’t make a decision), a human check.

You have two options:

  1. Veriff handles everything - Recommended. You don’t have to do anything. Users are verified within 2 minutes. With this option, you can do a pay-as-you-go. Another benefit of this option is that the onboarding process for your users is faster as the verification takes less than 1 minute
  2. Veriff with a human check. Verifications sent to Veriff are checked via Veriff’s automation check only. It means that in case of a doubt, you will have to check the users manually. You can check verifications manually through the goUrban dashboard and decide what to do (approve, ask for retry, or reject). Veriff with a human check shall not be confused with Manual verification, which gives a totally different process flow.

When shall the user verify the driving license?

There are two options to ask the users to verify their driving license with Veriff:

  1. During sign-up: to enable Veriff during the sign-up, please reach out to support@gourban.co or contact the Customer Success Team at goUrban.
  2. When the user selects a vehicle: It is possible, that the users will only be asked to verify with Veriff, when selecting a vehicle. This can be set via the Start-Rental requirements for each vehicle category. Especially for operators who have a vehicle category that requires a driving license and such which do not, this is the best option to go for, as it shortens the onboarding of the client.

Veriff - Support

In case you need clarification directly from Veriff, you can reach out to their support under support@veriff.com - however, please put the goUrban Customer Support Team (support@gourban.co) in the email CC!

Support cases that should be clarified directly with Veriff (please always send the UUID, which can be found in the User Quickview under Actions/Show Veriff:

  • identify why a user was verified, even if another user already has the same driving license in the system.
  • get the photos of the verification, when no longer available in the goUrban dashboard 
  • extend/reduce the visibility of photos of the verification in the goUrban dashboard (maybe due to legal reasons).

Verification types

The following verification type can be set up in the goUrban system for you:

Attention

Any overwriting from Veriff may not be 100% accurate, as no AI or machine is working completely without mistakes. The accuracy of Veriff is very very high however.

  1. VERIFF_VERIFICATION_ONLY
    1. Do a verification with Veriff
  2. OVERWRITE_BIRTHDATE - VERIFF_VERIFICATION_ONLY
    1. overwrite birthdate info returned from Veriff.

Tip

This is especially useful, when an age limit is legally required. Additionally, one step during the onboarding of the end-user to the app can be skipped which increases the conversion rate (vice versa lowers the churn rate).

Please review the required fields in the app settings page, when the overwriting is requested.

  1. OVERWRITE_NAME_BIRTHDATE - OVERWRITE_BIRTHDATE
    1. overwrite first and last names
  2. CHECK_BIRTHDATE - VERIFF_VERIFICATION_ONLY
    1. check if entered birthdate is valid
  3. CHECK_NAME_BIRTHDATE - CHECK_BIRTHDATE
    1. check if first and last names are valid
